Top 10 singers Katie Stevens, Didi Benami and Tim Urban plunged into the bottom three Wednesday night on “American Idol,” and voters sent one of them packing! Didi, who earned the judges’ ire with her performance of “What Becomes of the Brokenhearted,” was declared the contestant with least number of viewer votes. But would she impress Simon Cowell and company into saving her? Didi sang Fleetwood Mac’s “Rhiannon” for the chance to stave off elimination. “Didi, it’s bad news for you,” Simon told her. “We’re not going to save you. But I’ve got to tell you, it was a million times better than what you did last night.” Also on the results show, Usher unleashed “OMG,” Diddy-Dirty Money performed “Hello Good Morning,” and former “Idol” winner Ruben Studdard sang “Don’t Make ‘Em Like U No More.”

“American Idol” packed its results show with lots of entertainment beyond just Usher, who also acted as mentor to the contestants this week.

Unsurprisingly, it was Diddy Dirty Money who delivered the most over-the-top performance, complete with violins, a staircase, dry ice effects, strobe lights and his signature white clothes.

Part ’90s throwback, part aerobicized routine, “Hello Good Morning” was all attitude. It kept us entertained, but was it good?

Rewinding to the top of the hour, we were treated to “American Idol” winner Ruuuuuuuben Studdard’s return with a strong and assured performance of his “Don’t Make ‘Em Like You No More.”

Healthier and happier, he did a creditable job, doing the “Idol” name proud.

Oh, and as a bonus, right before his performance was the hilarious “Clash of the Titans” meets “American Idol” trailer mashup. Simon Cowell is to be feared!

Jesse’s ex-wife Janine Lindemulder, mother of 6-year-old Sunny, has renewed her custody fight over their daughter now that he’s in the spotlight for his alleged affair with Michelle “Bombshell” McGee.

In past custody battles, Sandra Bullock has been a strong advocate for keeping Sunny away from her mother Janine who has had a very sorted past with drugs and has spent time in jail.

WATCH “Acapella,” the first single from Kelis‘ forthcoming album, Flesh Tone. Of her collaboration with David Guetta, Kelis told MTV News, “It’s very ‘last woman standing’.” “It’s like the end-of-the-world child type thing. It’s got all these ethnic influences in it. There is a Native American element to it and an African element to it and an Asian element to it. It’s really tribal and kind of surreal at the same time.”

Covered up completely under a garment bag, Sandra Bullock was spotted returning to her home in Los Angeles on Wednesday night (March 31).

Joined by a bodyguard and her assistant, the Oscar-winning actress made her way to the home of Gabriel Brener, a billionaire who owns Brener International Group, a private investment firm in Beverly Hills.

Sandra reportedly considers 45-year-old Brener a dear family friend.

Says a source: “She’s not there on business. They’ve been friends for decades.”

Whitney Port and Ben Nemtin are heating up Chicago. That’s right, the WINDY City!

The relationship made in MTV heaven, pairing up The City and The Buried Life stars, began earlier this year when they started “hanging out,” and has gotten serious.

Nemtin recently helped Port celebrate her 25th birthday during an intimate bash at the Los Angeles restaurant Cecconi’s. Things only got more romantic from there.

When Ben Nemtin needed to be in Chicago last week to film The Oprah Winfrey Show for an episode scheduled to air April 9, Whitney joined him in the Windy City.

Not that it was all business.

“They were definitely flirty and affectionate all night.”

Idols in the house

• Michael Johns, a finalist from Season 7 of “American Idol,” was in the house with his beautiful wife Stacey. He was rocking a fedora and had two kids with him, though he doesn’t have kids, so maybe nephews? He also signed some autographs for two adorable kids that looked to be about 9 and 6 years of age. 
• Another kind of Idol was there … we mean of course the inimitable Wendy Williams. As promised, she was rocking the jeggings and a blindlingly sparkly top. She also had on maybe the biggest wig we’ve ever seen her wear. During one commercial break, Wendy and Ellen took some time to dish. Must be a talk show sorority thing.

We could’ve sworn Siobhan was going home…

• The entire time she was onstage, Siobhan Magnus looked incredibly despondent. She barely clapped, she looked miserable. We thought for sure there was some behind-the-scenes shenanigans wherein she knew she got the boot.
• Conversely, Didi Benami (who actually went home) looked to be having ball, so go figure?
• During Didi’s aired montage, Katie Stevens bolted out to center stage and gave Didi a big hug. Siobhan and Crystal followed suit, all the girls seemed sad to see her go.
• There was also a group hug that Tim Urban sort of missed out on, but not because he’s a jerk. He’s just a wiggly little puppy who was off chasing a butterfly or something.

Simon says…

• When they aired the “Idol”-meets-”Clash of the Titans’ commercial at the top of the hour, the entire place (judges included) cracked up hard at the “Release the kraken” joke in regards to Simon. Well played, marketing department. Well played.
• Speaking of cracking up … when Randy went to that weird incest-y place with Aaron Kelly about singing to your parents if you’ve never been in love, Simon lost his mind with laughter. Did they show that on TV? Because it was a sight not to be missed. Slumped over on the judges’ table, shoulders shaking. Really great.

The Velvet Teddy Bear returns

• After Ruben’s performance, all the judges swarmed him, with Randy and Simon giving him big hugs. That’s a really nice thing to see.
• When Kara came out from behind the the judges’ table, it turns out she was absolutely rocking a silver mini-dress and stilettos. You go, Kara.

The Ringling Bros. and Usher & DM circus

• This was too much. There was smoke and lights and six female dancers performing in such a way that I felt I should shield the eyes of the little girl sitting next to me. There was dancing and noise and screaming. It was too much! Usher ran through it twice and by the second time through, we were completely shell-shocked.
• Is it just us or was Diddy Dirty Money the most pointless performance ever? Also, we hope nobody in the audience has a seizure disorder, what with the amount of strobe light used. Aren’t they required to warn us about that crap? We thought for sure some Bieber fan’s grandpappy was going to have a stroke or something. (It turns out there was a warning for the TV broadcast about the strobelight. All of us from the live show audience are relieved you care so much for the fans at home.)

We didn’t know Justin Bieber was Hell on the ol’ skins. Is there anything this “American Idol” guest performer can’t do?

Bieber stopped by “Idol” Wednesday, March 31 for a number of reasons. First, he was there to support his good buddy Usher (the “Idol” mentor and performer this week).

Secondly, Bieber was there to tape his “Idol Gives Back” segment. He gave out the donation hotline number, then when asked what the last present his mother gave him is he replied, “A hug.” The resounding “awwwww” from the audience was quite loud.

After he was done, he pointed at the mosh pit on stage left and one tween fan took that as her apparent cue to rush the stage. Mike the Security Guard had her tackled in no time flat. No, he didn’t really tackle her. But he grabbed her in a bear hug around the waist that was forceful enough to spin them around. It was impressive. Nobody rushes the Bieb.

Speaking of crazed fans, we were lucky enough to sit by two 13-year-old girls who were so excited when Bieber came out to tape “Idol Gives Back” that they started crying. When it came time for his actual performance, they were very distraught about not being closer to the stage, so we distracted a CBS studios usher so the two girls could sneak down to the mosh pits. We know it was rogue, but there is no law when it comes to Bieber.

Finally, Bieb’s main purpose was to tape a performance for a future show of “Idol.” Except getting him set up so he could actually perform took forever. We were forced to move down closer to fill an empty seat and had the misfortune of being placed next to a very loud heckling mother. No, we are not kidding.

This woman was so annoyed at having to sit there while they checked the sound and set up the band and checked the lights and let the backup dancers warm up that she was actually heckling. It took all our restraint not to turn to her and say, “First of all, lady, you are being a crabby pain and second of all, you are embarrassing the snot out of your teenage daughter.”

Finally, Bieber took the stage. He performed “U Smile and “Baby.” If you really want a treat when this actually airs, watch his backup dancers on “Baby.” They are fantastic. At the end of “Baby,” Bieber took over for the drummer and brought the song home, which was also cool. We didn’t know he drummed — now we know 31 things about Justin Bieber.

Overall, it was a bit much, what with the crying, screaming girls. But it should be a good “Idol” performance show.

Both Paranormal Activity 2 and Saw VII 3D are planning on being released at the end of October!

It’ll be a Halloween horror movie showdown!

Although Paramount wasn’t positive that the Paranormal Activity sequel would be completed in time, both flicks are scheduled to be released on October 22nd.

TMZ has learned Rachel Uchitel — the pilgrim of alleged mistresses — settled up with Tiger Woods for waaaaaaay more than you think … as in $10 MILLION!!

There were numerous reports Rachel settled on the brink of holding a Gloria Allred-style news conference for anywhere between $2 – 5 million.

But our sources — and they are good — tell TMZ Tiger was so concerned with the depth and detail of information from Alleged Mistress #1 that they folded like a cheap suit, and offered the huge $10 million sum in return for an ironclad confidentiality agreement.

TMZ has learned the actual settlement could fluctuate $1 million either way, depending on future circumstances. But the baseline is $10 mil.

Compare Rachel’s settlement with what other A.M’s received, if they got anything at all. We’re told several mistresses got several hundred thousand dollars, and others got nothing. That speaks volumes about how much Rachel knows.

Insiders are saying Rachel’s settlement could be a precursor to what Elin Nordegren could get if she pulls the plug on her marriage to Tiger. Reports that Elin could get $300 million under the prenup are absurd. It’s more likely the prenup is in the $5 – 10 million range, with provisions for support. But insiders tell us — with the backdrop of Rachel’s settlement — there’s no way Tiger would get off cheaper than $20 mil.

Someone tried to kill Dennis Hopper — according to legal docs filed by the actor’s assistant — and the alleged culprit is Hopper’s own wife.

Dennis’ assistant, Emily Davis, made the shocking allegation in a declaration filed in Hopper’s epic divorce battle with wife Victoria.

In the docs, obtained by TMZ, Davis claims she and everyone else in the Hopper household were “at the mercy of [wife Victoria's] cruelty” when Hopper had to be taken to the hospital last December — and added that his wife “was trying to kill him.” Emily didn’t specify the alleged method of termination.

Davis claims Victoria — who’s been trying to preserve her stake in Dennis’ inheritance — “is a threat to all in the home and has already looted millions of [dollars in] property that is not hers.”

Dennis’ daughter from a prior marriage, Marin Hopper — who’s actually older than her stepmother — also weighed in, calling Victoria’s behavior “frightening” … and accusing her of spreading “slanderous lies” to the media.

No response yet from Victoria’s camp.
